The Partners in Transition initiative was spearheaded by the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council, Inc. to create a strategic plan that will guide policymakers and practitioners in systematically addressing the major challenges and critical issues regarding transition services in the State of Florida. This initiative is a partnership with The Able Trust, Advocacy Center for Persons with Disabilities, Inc., Agency for Health Care Administration, Agency for Persons with Disabilities, Florida Center for Inclusive Communities at the University of South Florida, the Florida Department of Children and Families, the Florida Department of Education, the Florida Department of Health, the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council, Inc., the Transition to Independence Process Project, the Agency for Workforce Innovation, families, self-advocates, and educators from throughout the state. Vision Mission Objectives 2) To increase capacity at the state and local levels to implement strategies that result in improved transition outcomes for students with disabilities in Florida across all the “quality of life” domains (i.e., employment, postsecondary education, community and independent living, recreation and leisure, etc.). |
